Massage Therapist to have an Understanding

by | Mar 25, 2015 | Health

It is our intention and interest to create an atmosphere that is conducive to learning, good bodywork and to experientially understanding the development of the client/ therapist relationship. The context in which the potential for a satisfying and therapeutic experience can arise, (physically, mentally, and emotionally) and is largely dependent on the quality and depth of the therapist’s intimate awareness of herself/ himself, as well as of client.

Honoring the client’s pace and acceptance of the bodywork, and giving space to the unfolding of a client’s total experience of themselves requires the therapist to have an understanding and a knowing of themselves, as they assist their client in a natural and genuine sensitivity and respect of the process of becoming a healthy and balanced human being.

It is our belief that therapists should approach their clients in a safe, and supportive manner, both as they approach the table, and again as they make contact with the tissue. It is also our wish that our students approach themselves and their learning with this same energy and mercy that they meet their clients.
