Do You Need Suboxone Treatment?

What is suboxone?

This is a prescription medicine made up of buprenorphine and naloxone, used for the treatment of opioid addiction. It isn’t used to administer pain relief. However, many studies show that it is an effective treatment for opioid use disorder, resulting in massively positive changes, if given under controlled conditions.

Effects of suboxone

Long-term use of drugs can lead to addiction. Once the addiction happens, it can be hard to break without proper medication and assistance.  Heroin and pain meds are opioids.  Opioids are very dangerous.  Suboxone relieves the effects of quitting opioids.  Suboxone also prevents relapse.  The addict will be less likely to take opioids while taking suboxone.

Reminders for suboxone use

Given the risks associated with the use of the drug, care must be taken in administering it in the right dosage. Patients must also follow doctor’s instructions regarding the proper way to take in the drug. If misused, addiction, overdose or death could follow.
Rehabilitation

Doctors recognize the danger and risks associated with the use of the drug. So if you find yourself suffering from addiction, consult a doctor for suboxone treatment. The sooner you look for assistance and help, the sooner you can get your condition under control, Dr. Leeds says.

Withdrawal process

If you’ve been dependent on a drug for too long, you might end up suffering from severe effects of long-term drug use. So don’t try to go through the withdrawal process on your own. Doing so can put your life at grave risk. Long-term drug abuse trains your body to be dependent on the drug. Without it, you’ll start to undergo severe withdrawal symptoms. If left untreated or unmanaged, those symptoms could lead or contribute to your death.

Treatment centers

There are plenty of centers and rehabilitation clinics that offer suboxone treatment. Find one that meets your needs. Ask around. Do your research. And make sure you assess the treatment program to see if it addresses your needs. Then once you find the best one, don’t think twice about reaching out to the center for help and assistance.
